Setting Your Intention

When participating as a spokesperson in an interview, how can you set yourself up for success?

Set your intention — that’s where it starts.

Ask yourself - what are you trying to accomplish?

Your goal could be to share some positive news about your organization.

It could be to debate a specific issue critical to your industry.

It’s possible you could be defending your company’s reputation.

Or, you could have breaking news to share.

With your intention set – take it one step further.

Now, what are the most critical points you want to communicate?

Break those into three key messages.

Write them down, and with every question you’re asked, aim to bring the discussion back to one of those key areas.
